LCP salutes the South African case against the Zionist entity at ICJ

Statements
The Political Bureau of the Lebanese Communist Party salutes the important political and legal initiative launched by the South African government through the lawsuit it filed against the Zionist entity in the International Court of Justice for committing crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people.

The South African government has prepared a comprehensive file and a legal team on the Zionist crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, where the trial will begin starting Thursday, January 11.

This initiative, regardless of its outcome and the court’s response to it, constitutes a political stance of solidarity that expresses the will of millions of peoples of the world who stood, demonstrated, and staged  sit-ins in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in condemnation of the criminal Zionist aggression and the countries that support it.

International solidarity by national and progressive forces, parties, bodies and governments has filled the void created by the absence of the Arab official system and its failure, with some regimes lining up with the enemy through normalization agreements and paths of political, economic and commercial cooperation with it.

The position of solidarity with the Palestinian people today must be translated into actual and practical initiatives, in all available forms, to lift political, media and field pressure on the enemy in order to reach an immediate ceasefire and release all Palestinian prisoners in the occupation prisons according to the conditions of the Palestinian resistance factions.
